Reader's workshop is a teaching method in which the goal is to explicitly teach students strategies to become more skillful at comprehending a text. It involves students in authentic reading experiences that focus on strengths and needs of each individual student through differentiated instruction. Lastly, it emphasizes the importance of student engagement and the interaction between the readers and text. Reader's Workshop consists of 3 parts: focus lesson, independent reading and share.
